A French faux bamboo mirror dating to circa 1900, featuring an elongated rectangular form and a finely turned wooden frame inspired by natural bamboo. The frame is composed of slender bamboo-form rails accented by carved nodes and projecting spindle-form terminals, creating an elegant silhouette with subtle architectural presence.

The warm honey-toned finish highlights the turned woodwork and gives the piece a mellow, inviting character. Faux bamboo furnishings became especially fashionable in France during the late 19th century alongside the influence of Japonisme and Anglo-Japanese decorative design, prized for their light exoticism and refined linear forms.
