English Regency Figured Mahogany Pembroke Table with Drawer, circa 1820

$3,995

An English Regency period Pembroke table crafted circa 1820, featuring richly figured mahogany veneers and delicate contrasting string inlay. The rectangular top is fitted with two hinged drop leaves, allowing the table to expand from a compact 21.5 inches to an open width of 43.5 inches. Its softly rounded corners and beautifully patterned grain lend elegance to the practical design.

A single frieze drawer provides useful storage and is outlined with fine inlay. It retains two decorative brass pulls with floral backplates and a central keyhole. The table is raised on four slender turned legs accented with ring moldings and terminating in brass casters.

With its adaptable proportions, this antique English table could serve as a small dining or breakfast table when opened, while functioning equally well as a console, occasional table or writing table when the leaves are lowered. The warm coloration, refined inlaid decoration and graceful Regency silhouette make it an appealing and versatile addition to a traditional or collected interior.
