Created in France during the 19th century, this elm vaisselier hutch features narrow open shelves in the upper section secured with a thin baluster accented with spindle shaped motifs. The cornice is nicely carved and comes forward to create a focal point accentuated by the turned finials on each side. The lower section showcases the buffet part made of two drawers sitting above two doors adorned with recessed burl panels and arching motifs. The drawers are fitted with brass bail handles on floral backplates, flanking a shield-shaped escutcheon while the doors present sinuous hardware with etched accents.
