French 19th Century Walnut Demi-Lune Console Table with Marble Top and Drawer
$7,500
This French walnut console table from the 19th century features a refined demi-lune form topped with a shaped gray marble slab and raised on four slender fluted legs joined by a lower semicircular shelf. Elegant without being overdone, it combines useful scale with decorative detail, making it well suited to an entry, landing, salon, or bedroom.
The case is centered by a single drawer fitted with brass pulls and escutcheon, while the curved front is accented with restrained brass trim and applied brass mounts that lend the piece a slightly Neoclassical character. The walnut has a warm tone and attractive veneer patterning across the drawer and side panels, and the open lower shelf gives it a lighter, more architectural silhouette than a fully closed console. That lower tier also makes it practical, offering space for books, boxes, or decorative objects.
The marble top adds visual weight and utility, while the overall proportions keep the piece easy to place. It reads as a decorative console, side table, or small dessert/server form, with enough surface for a lamp or vase and just enough storage in the drawer for everyday use.
