French Turn of the Century Walnut Buffet with Three Drawers over Three Doors

A French Turn of the Century walnut buffet from the early 20th century, with three drawers over three doors, brass pulls and feet, pilaster motifs, banding and tapered legs. Created in France during the Turn of the Century which saw the transition between the 19th to the 20th, this long walnut buffet, also called an enfilade, features a rectangular top sitting above three drawers. These drawers, showcasing a nice dovetail construction, are fitted with brass pulls and are accented with a thin dark toned banding. Three doors below, echoing the same décor and flanked with thin pilasters on the sides, open thanks to shield-shaped escutcheons to reveal inner shelves. The sides are made of recessed panels and the back is, of course, unfinished. The ensemble is raised on four feet, tapered and mounted on brass in the front and straight in the back. With its clean lines and lovely finish, this French walnut buffet circa 1900 will make for a stylish addition to any home, particularly placed in a living room or dining room.
