Italian Giltwood Sunburst Chandelier with Frosted Glass Diffuser, circa 1930
$3,500
An Italian carved giltwood sunburst chandelier from the early 20th century, circa 1920–1930, featuring a rich finish and frosted glass diffuser. Radiating with stylized flame or leaf motifs, the hand-carved frame forms a dramatic crown shape, beautifully gilded in a warm, aged patina that emphasizes its depth and shadow.
The center features a circular frosted glass insert, diffusing the single interior bulb with a soft, ambient glow. Rewired for the USA and fitted with a new canopy and short chain, this ceiling light is ready for installation.
Despite its sculptural impact, the chandelier maintains a relatively compact scale—making it ideal for an entryway, powder room, breakfast nook, or hallway where ceiling height is limited but design presence is essential. It also works well layered into larger rooms as a secondary fixture, paired with classical elements or as a standout in more eclectic, artful spaces.
The combination of early 20th-century Italian craftsmanship, rich giltwood carving, and a timeless sunburst form make this chandelier a refined focal point—bridging decorative tradition with functional light.
