English 19th Century Oak Bobbin Leg Side Table with Single Drawer
$4,500
An English 19th-century oak Jacobean revival side table with bobbin-turned legs, single drawer, and a stretcher base. The rectangular top has a molded edge and a warm, rich oak surface with visible grain, age, and patina. Below the rectangular top, the apron is fitted with one long drawer designed with a twin-panel front, giving the appearance of two smaller drawers. Each side has a rounded wooden knob, with a central lock plate and decorative escutcheon between the two paneled sections. This gives the piece visual symmetry while retaining the practicality of a single full-width drawer.
The table is raised on boldly turned bobbin legs, joined by matching bobbin-turned stretchers on the front, back, and sides. This gives the piece excellent visual rhythm and a sturdy, traditional English character. The combination of oak, turned supports, practical storage, and compact scale makes it especially versatile. It could be used as a side table, small writing table, lamp table, bedside table, hall table, or accent table in a library, sitting room, bedroom, or country house interior.
