Large 18th Century Italian Walnut Refectory Table with Trestle Base

This substantial Italian table dates to the 18th century and is crafted in solid walnut, featuring a long rectangular top resting on a classic trestle base. Measuring 108 inches in length, it was clearly conceived as a refectory or communal table, intended for large dining rooms, monasteries, or rural palazzi where durability and scale were essential.

The top is constructed from wide walnut planks arranged in a framed, parquet-like pattern, with pronounced wear, softened edges, and deep surface patina consistent with centuries of use.
