Pair of English Regency Mahogany Mirrored Cabinets with Inlay
$18,600
A refined pair of English Regency mirrored cabinets, crafted in the early 19th century, circa 1815–1830. Each cabinet is veneered in warm mahogany and accented with delicate string inlay along the top, framing a finely proportioned surface with subtle architectural shaping to the front corners.
The cornice is enriched with an ebonized band inset with gilt triangular detailing, a decorative element characteristic of the Regency period. The façade features a central mirrored panel flanked by gently curved stiles, creating depth and reflection while maintaining restrained classical symmetry. The mirrored doors open to reveal fitted interiors with shelving, offering practical storage within an elegant form.
The cabinets stand on turned and carved front feet, with clean rear supports, lending them a balanced stance suitable for use as bedside cabinets, small side cabinets, or flanking pieces in a drawing room or library. The scale is particularly versatile at 28 inches wide and just 14 inches deep.
Constructed in mahogany veneer over secondary wood, the overall design reflects the Regency preference for architectural clarity, proportion, and refined surface ornament.
